I’m seeing my life through new glasses
I’m seeing all things anew
They’re purple and bigger than I’m used to
But I think that they’re very me
My prescription hadn’t changed much
But I needed some for close work
So I’ve treated myself to some new ones
For distance, to drive in the clear
But they made me think as I wear them
That I get new perspective on life.

The glasses have thicker side arms than I am used, and so there's a bit of a blind spot. But this means that I see best looking forward and turning my head, so I'm seeing this as a metaphor that I should only look forward in life and aim to look less at the past. There are still things to resolve to bring the binge eating under control. I unfortunately put back all the weight I had lost, but I'm looking at new ideas for distractions and will try again.
