A Jewel Shining Through

I thought I would google my blogging name just for fun and found it in a poem, which is a little spooky as it was a phrase that just came into my brain one day, out of the blue. Very spooky. The poem was written by L M Montgomery who also wrote Anne of Green Gables amongst other things...

THE POET'S THOUGHT

IT came to him in rainbow dreams,
Blent with the wisdom of the sages,
Of spirit and of passion born;
In words as lucent as the morn
He prisoned it, and now it gleams
A jewel shining through the ages.

I liked my blog name as it reflected that despite depression there was still something worthwhile about me - the jewel shining through despite the knocks etc. Having now found this, my blog name seems very appropriate, at least I think...

Hello Jewel,
Just as the ice crystals form to produce the picture in your post's photo, just as the poem's author tenders a rare stone,I conclude that you are indeed a jewel of heart and hope and everything beauty would bestow itself upon.
You have a lovely blog site.
And thank you for following mine.
In peace and love, dcrelief

Thank you so much dc, I shall be ruby red with all the praise. I'll share with you this. A few years ago I used to make jewellery to sell on ebay and someone expressed an interest in me making some bracelets for them, and I ran away. I was too scared that someone else might like what I was doing, but since I have grown and I promise that I resist running away and take the compliments in the loving support that they are given. We dare to connect because we have strength, and because of the support we need or want to give. Thank you for not running away as your thoughts first were. See true growth and inner strength before us.
